Eryri/Snowdon Wine Rack

A unique console table with a rich provenance.

The table top is made of reclaimed slate formed over 500 million years ago. The natural slate textures have been enhanced by decades of exposure to the elements, giving each one a distinctive colouration and unique character. The base is made from local ash wood with a central cross rail that has been steam bent to reflect the silhouette of the Snowdonia mountain range, where many of the slate mines where originally located.

A customer asked if I could make the Eryri/Snowdon console table into a wine rack. The finished piece worked really well and is a good example of taking one of my existing designs then adapting it to suit the requirements if the customer.

The console table is finished with hard wearing, water based varnish.
